Adult Day Health Care Program

We know that activity, companionship, and watchful health care can make a positive difference in the
lives of older people and people with disabilities.  Since 1979, our Adult Day Health Center has
been providing nursing care, social services and recreational activities for senior citizens and
disabled adults from Quincy and the South Shore Community.  Our goal is to assist participants in a
way that improves the quality of their lives, while enabling them to remain at home and enjoy their
independence.  Family caregivers appreciate knowing that their loved one is participating in a day
program that will make the most of his or her abilities and promote a sense of accomplishment in a
safe and friendly environment.  For family members and caregivers, adult day health care provides
respite, support, and education.

Our Adult Day Health Center services include:

- Nursing Care - Medication, dressing changes, health monitoring, and education
- Social Services - Support, counseling, advocacy, referrals for participants and their family
- Transportation - Provided for participants within the service area.  Special arrangements made for
non-ambulatory participants through The Ride.
- Nutrition - Hot lunch, plus morning and afternoon snacks meeting USDA requirements (Therapeutic
diets as prescribed by physicians available)
- Monthly inter-generational visits
- Weekly day trips - Including the sea shore, bowling, restaurants, parks, and museums
- Recreational Activities - Such as arts and crafts

Additional Highlights:
